Because the single most difficult problem we had during this project was figuring out how to arrange the massive amount of content Freshway possessed. Our team was able to better comprehend the layout of the new eCommerce site by creating and iterating on a sitemap. We then proceeded to define the rest of the eCommerce architecture and wireframe the remaining pages after that.
One of the things we were told to do was to prioritise "food first." This request had a significant impact on how we planned to organise material across the site. As a result, determining what types of photos we needed to blend with the accompanying language to help us achieve the goals of developing a charismatic eCommerce for Freshway was a big element of our UX approach.
We began the web development phase after establishing the UI/UX concept. Freshway Foods didn't give us a style guide, but they did point us in the right direction by giving us their brand colours and typefaces. We created a comprehensive visual language library for them to utilise across the site using their colour palette as a guide, which included design fonts, patterns, images styles, gradients, and bespoke iconography, effectively creating a full brand guide for them.
The development was complicated due to the numerous moving parts. The eCommerce site was constructed using the Cake PhP framework, and each module was completely customised. We included a page builder to provide Freshway Foods the ability to manage their site in the future. This gives them the freedom to design the page whatever they want while keeping the overall look and feel of the site constant and unified.
